José is from Puerto Rico and moved to South Lorain as a young child. He remembers Lorain as a vibrant community surrounded by food, music and the Spanish language. In 1968, after finishing high school, he joined the U.S. air force, moved away but has reclaimed Ohio as his home for last few years.
